A teacher is fired and charged with 2 counts of sexual assault of a child

A former CE-King High School teacher, Katrina Louisa Maxwell, was charged with two counts of sexual assault on a child under the age of 17 according to court records, the former teacher after a vigorous investigation ended up admitting to having sex with the underage student.

Maxwell began a sexual relationship with a 16-year-old student spring break in March and April.

The employee also reported a second incident in which Maxwell is accused of throwing scissors at the student’s head for sitting next to his girlfriend, according to court data records.

After an investigation, Maxwell admitted to having sex on two occasions with the student in the back seat of his vehicle while she was being interviewed, according to court documents.

When the student was interviewed, he shared with investigators that he and Maxwell had had sex since March and April, according to court filings.

The Sheldon Independent School District said Maxwell was fired for an inappropriate relationship with a student.

The Sheldon Independent School District administration recently became aware of an inappropriate relationship between the former teacher and student.

“As soon as district administration was notified, the teacher was immediately removed from the school campus and the district notified law enforcement and Child Protective Services (CPS).

The district’s first concern is always the safety of our students while providing a safe place for students to learn.”

Maxwell was arrested and her bail was set at $20,000.
