A rapist receives dozens of stab wounds after raping a mother and promising to do the same to the victim’s daughter
Peters, a native of Australia, was at home in Brisbane when the man who had raped her a few days earlier came knocking on her door again. The 51-year-old rapist, Jason Cassar, demanded that the drug-addicted mother, 35, have sex with him.
When she refused, he vowed to attack her daughter. But that’s when Peters’ rage reached its boiling point.
With Cassar stalking her, Peters ran to her kitchen and grabbed a knife, plunging it into her rapist’s chest dozens of times.
She then tied a rope around his neck and dragged him behind her vehicle to dispose of his body.
Police discovered 61 wounds on Cassar’s body, including stab wounds 10 centimeters deep to the chest and genitals.
Peters initially asked his friends to help him dispose of Cassar’s body, which lay dead on his kitchen floor.
But they refused to help him, and it was then that Peters made the decision to put Cassar in his vehicle and drag him to a secluded location.
While the court agreed that he had “significant provocation” to use force against his attacker, it disagreed with his method of disposing of the body.
Judge David Bodice addressed Peters, saying he understood that the murder “occurred in circumstances where you were furious” at what Cassar had done and threatened to do again.
Peters was eventually sentenced to 10 1/2 years in prison for killing her assailant and dragging his body through the streets.
She received 9 years for involuntary manslaughter and an additional 18 months for intrusion on a corpse.
