A man who thought that fasting for 40 days and 40 nights would lead God to give him a Lamborghinini almost died after an extreme fasting attempt.
A man attempts to fast for 40 days “so that God will give him a Lamborghini.”
This young man, a church leader, went to a mountainous area where he hid so no one would try to make him eat.
He was saved 33 days later, looking “frail and almost unrecognizable,” says Mbars Times.
The man had been fasting in the hope of getting a Lamborghini for his girlfriend, who told him that owning such a car was one of her dreams.
The unemployed guy thought that fasting might encourage God to step up and help him by not being able to afford such a flashy car.
Fortunately for him, he was found in time and taken to Bindura General Hospital, where he is said to be showing signs of recovery.
The man’s church leader told the publication that he “would have at least joined for a job, as he is unemployed.”
Some kind-hearted parishioners tried to raise enough money to give him the Lamborghini he had been fasting for and almost died for.
But the small amount of cash he collects will now be used to help him pay his medical bills.
No details go into this report about the type of fasting this man may have attempted, but, according to theories, humans can last several weeks without eating.
However, if he tried to give up water, he would have a much harder time, as experts appreciate that humans can survive only a few days without it.
Claude Piantadosi, of Duke University in North Carolina, told NBC News, “Depending on the temperature it’s exposed to, you can go without drinking for 100 hours at an average temperature outside.”
“If it’s colder, it may take a little longer.
If it’s exposed to direct sunlight, it’s less.”
