A young woman was resting in her canoe when she was surprised by a large humpback whale jumping out at her. The canoeist’s fright at the sight of the mammal was colossal.
A large humpback whale emerges from the ocean and almost crushes two canoeists who were resting in the middle of the sea
They got the scare of their lives: two women were resting peacefully in the middle of the sea with their catamaran when they got a bit of a scare… a whale emerges from the bottom of the ocean very close to where they were and almost fell on them.
A young woman was surprised by a large humpback whale while she was resting on her canoe in the sea.
As can be seen in the video that accompanies these lines, the canoeist was resting in the sea when suddenly the animal jumped a few meters away from her without warning, giving her a good scare.
Upon seeing these images, a biologist explained that humpback whales make these jumps for fun and to communicate with other specimens.
A large humpback whale attacks
This is not the first time that a cetacean has given a scare to sportsmen. Julie McSorley and her friend Liz Cottriel were whale watching in the waters off Avila Beach, California, when they got a scare for life. A large humpback whale emerged from the waters and swallowed the boat they were on.
The images were captured by a woman who was also watching the whales and show the huge animal jumping out of the water and catapulting the two friends out of their kayak. At one point, the kayakers even appear to fall into the whale’s mouth.
