Forget toilet paper, gasoline shortages have gripped parts of the United States, and people have flocked to gas stations in panic to buy the precious liquid.

Residents searched with plastic bags, huge buckets and anything else they can find for gasoline until the shortage disappears.

However, one driver found out the hard way why they should be careful when carrying a lot of petriol.

Firefighters in Citrus County, Florida, reported a vehicle reported on fire this week in Homosassa.

They discovered a Hummer vehicle, which is engulfed by flames, and quickly extinguished the fire.

The driver said he had filled four 18-liter gas cans with gasoline and stuffed them all in the back.

The Florida State Fire Marshals office has begun an investigation into the cause of the blaze, but social media speculated, the driver may have lit up a cigarette and sparked the fire.

One person on Reddit demonstrated how Florida is not affected by the gas shortage as seen in other parts of the country.

It all started when a cybersecurity attack hit the Colonial gas pipeline, which provides about 45 percent of the gas used on the U.S.

East Coast.
