Brittany Johnson wanted to be famous on Instagram. However, the 20-year-old influencer faced an uphill battle.
With so many people flooding social media platforms with content, Johnson didn’t know how to differentiate herself from the masses.
After welcoming her six-month-old Jack Russell puppy into the family, Johnson had an idea about how she could use her dog to attract more views online, and now she’s been busted for what she did to her dog.
In several videos, Johnson filmed herself mistreating her dog. For example, she sprayed perfume in the puppy’s eyes at the same time, while in another video she is seen grabbing the puppy by the collar.
And in yet another video, Johnson joked about how she had broken the dog’s legs.
After posting the alarming content online, some of the influencer’s social media followers called the police to report the animal abuse.
Police located Johnson at a Motel 6 in Dekalb County. Police arrested her on January 22, 2021.
She was forced to relinquish custody of her puppy to Dekalb County Professional Animal Services.
After she voluntarily relinquished the dog, Johnson posted a cryptic message on her social media accounts that read, “As I posted on my personal, Max is no longer with us, Rip Buddy # 6 months on this earth, keep me in prayers.”
The post suggests that the puppy died; however, it is unclear if his actions were responsible for the dog’s death.
Many responses to the bizarre post on social media seem to indicate that Johnson may have seriously injured the canine.
However, Insider reports that the dog is currently under the care of county animal professionals.
