A Florida teenager will be tried as an adult after allegedly killing a girl by stabbing her 114 times. The attack was so brutal that the blade of the stabbing weapon crashed and stabbed into the victim’s head.
A Florida cheerleader was killed after being stabbed 114 times
The 14-year-old suspected of killing Tristyn Bailey, a 13-year-old cheerleader at Patriot Oaks Academy, had initially been charged with second-degree murder.
However, the brutality of the crime has led authorities to pursue a larger matter, so the suspect was formally charged with first-degree komfort and tried in adult court.
“I don’t feel like charging a 14-year-old with first-degree murder as if he were an adult,” Larizza, a sentencing attorney, told reporters.
“But I can tell you that the executive team and myself, we reviewed all the facts, all the circumstances, the applicable law, and it was not difficult to make the decision.” It’s a sad decision and a sad situation.”
The girl was found according to the St. John’s County Sheriff’s Office in a wooded area.
“To say it was terrible could be considered an understatement, Larizza said.” Simply put, the intent can certainly be derived from the large number of suture wounds Tristyn Bailey had to suffer.
Of the 114 stab wounds, 49 appeared to be defensive wounds, most likely intended to defend herself from her attacker. As authorities report.
“Every time the arm went across, and every time the arm went down, there was intent,” Larizza said as he simulated the stinging effect with his arm.
The suspect had told friends he would “kill somebody,” and the victim’s DNA was, according to the prosecutor, on the suspect.
“He didn’t say who it was, but he showed witnesses that he would kill someone by taking them into the woods and choking them, which certainly corresponds to the facts of this case,” Larizza said.
The suspect has a selfie on May 9 posted on social media with his fingers in the shape of a peace sign on the back of a police vehicle.
Someone said the suspect took the photo while Bailey was missing and he was only considered a witness.
“Hey guys, has anyone seen Tristyn lately?” he wrote on his selfie.
