A child was found dead in the middle of a Texas Dallas street Saturday
The unidentified boy was discovered with several wounds around 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Dallas police said.
Investigators believe a “stabbing weapon” was used.
A toddler was found Saturday morning in the middle of a Texas street, authorities said.
“The incident is being investigated as a murder and the investigation is active and ongoing,” Dallas Police said in a release.
Officers are canvassing the area and are asking for the public’s help, especially neighbors who may have any knowledge or video of this incident.
The unidentified child was found with injuries around 5:30 in the 7500 block of CT 7500 discovered by Sattleridge Drive, Assistant Chief Executive Albert Martinez told NBC Dallas–Fort value.
He did not give any information about how the boy was killed, but said investigators believe an “edged weapon” was used.
Martinez also described the circumstances of the case as “unusual.”
“Unfortunately a little boy was lost today in our city through a violent act and we will pursue justice to find whoever did this and bring some kind of closure, not only to the family but to the community,” he said according to the news station.
“We are very angry at what has happened to this little boy. We are outraged.” the station continued.
Antwainese Square, who lives in the neighborhood, was on a morning walk when he saw the boy’s body in the street.
But when he got closer, he realized it was a lifeless body and called 911.
“The baby was without shoes and shirt and was just lying there on the ground…” said Square, a mother of three and an educator.
