A British man kills his wife with 300 stab wounds and “smashes her face”
The events took place at the couple’s home in Prescot, near Liverpool.
During an argument, because the man accused his wife, 56, of “cheating” he attacked her and threw her to the floor.
“He said he went to the kitchen and grabbed a knife and started stabbing her until the knife broke; he did the same with a second knife and a third.”
Gordon Cole, prosecutor says that in total George used four knives while executing the murder.
As later determined by experts, George stabbed Paula nearly 300 times.
Of these injuries, about 100 were added to her face and head.
The defendant said that when he finished assaulting his wife he was covered in blood.
As a result of the crime, George “disfigured the face” of the victim, indicated the judge, Andrew Menary, who called the murder “an episode of unspeakable and savagery.”
“The injuries inflicted were so severe and so extensive that, although the defendant indicated that he had killed his wife, the formal identification process could only be confirmed by the presence of a tattoo Paula Leather had and also by a watch she wore,” the prosecutor of the crime noted.
