A car thief with a gun saw an 82-year-old man pumping gas alone, probably thinking he had found an easy target. However, he would soon learn that he had picked the wrong victim, and it was all caught on video.

An 82-year-old man was confronted in the middle of the street by an armed young man he discovered trying to steal his car while he was refueling at a gas station in Atlanta (United States).
While pumping gas around 2:30 p.m. at the Chevron gas station on McDonough Boulevard in southeast Atlanta, the suspect approached the victim.
The footage of the incident was released by the Atlanta Police Department and shows how the young man approaches the man from behind and, after exchanging a few words, pulls out a gun and points it at him while demanding the keys to the car.
However, to the officers’ surprise, instead of giving in to the offender’s demands, the older man lunged at him and knocked him down, knocking him to the ground, where they struggled for a few moments.
After leaving the victim lying on the ground, the thief headed for the vehicle, but ended up leaving the scene without accomplishing his goal, as he was unable to start it. Fortunately, the elderly man was not seriously injured.
“When I put my gas nozzle back on and was getting ready to get in the car, I turned around, and he was there with a gun in his pants and showed part of it,” the elderly man recalled during an interview.
