“My wife and I talked about it, she was pregnant and had some concerns. Everything was very fast and we were pressured, she didn’t want to and I didn’t want to go against her wishes,” her husband explained to the media, while lamenting what happened.
The man managed to recover, but Crystal, who was in an advanced state of pregnancy, had to be hospitalized when her condition worsened and she was diagnosed with pneumonia. The woman had to undergo an emergency caesarean section and her baby, named Koda, was born prematurely at 25 weeks gestation.
The baby is still in intensive care, but has tested negative for coronavirus. However, Crystal was intubated and a few hours later passed away.
The family is shocked by the death of Crystal Hernandez
Crystal Hernandez’s husband, still in shock, over the passing of his wife, who leaves five other children.
“We didn’t get to see her until she was close, I wish and I would have hugged her tighter before I let her go through those sliding doors,” Hernandez continued.
The family has set up a GofundMe account to help pay for funeral expenses and help her husband and children get through the difficult circumstances they are facing. The baby, a newborn, remains hospitalized in stable condition. The family will soon say their final goodbye to Crystal.
