The father of two young children found dead in Nebraska at his home, where they had stayed with him following a court-ordered visitation, was charged Monday with child abuse resulting in death.

Adam Price, 35, was found after the bodies of his children, Emily and Theodore, were found Sunday morning at a home in Bellevue south of Omaha.

Price was arrested Sunday in Pacifica, California, near San Francisco.

Police did not say how the children died. Fees give no clue as to how Price allegedly caused the children’s deaths.

The children’s mother, Mary Nielsen, told reporters that she and Price were in divorce proceedings, and the children went to visit their father as the court order says.

Nielsen, who moved to Illinois with the children, called police more than once and went on social media to ask for information about her children’s whereabouts after she hadn’t heard from them since Thursday.

Nielsen said her husband had a court order to provide her with daily communication with the children during his visits.

A friend of Nielsen’s visited Price’s home at about 11 a.m. Sunday because her friend asked her to and when she arrived the door was unlocked.

The friend contacted police after finding the children’s bodies.

Nielsen said her children were “happy, sweet and loving” and that she wished she could have them back and tell them how much she loves them,” she said in a Facebook post.
