U.S. Marshals in Georgia rescue 16 children believed to be victims of sex trafficking, the mission dubbed “Operation Not Forgotten 2021” took place in metro Atlanta over a two-week period.

A series of raids by U.S. Marshals in Georgia led to the recovery of 20 missing and endangered children, with more than a dozen alleged victims of sex trafficking, authorities announced.

The mission dubbed “Operation Not Forgotten 2021” was conducted in metro Atlanta over a two-week period and was the third of its kind, with the previous operation returning as late as August 20.

The Attorney General’s office went with the U.S. Juvenile Unit (USMS) and the U.S. Marshals Service (USMS). (USMS) and the Southeast Regional Task Force (SERFTF), the National Center for Missing Children (NCMEC), as well as state and local agencies during the operation.

“Our Human Trafficking Prosecution Unit is proud to again partner with our local, state and federal partners in Operation Not Forgotten 2021, and we thank the U.S. Marshals Service.”

“Being embedded for the duration of this operation allows our prosecutors and investigators to build the strongest possible cases against buyers and traffickers and allows our victim advocate to ensure that those rescued get the critical rehabilitative resources they need,” he added.

“Strategic opportunities will continue to be found to restore victims and put offenders behind bars.”

“The identities of the 20 child victims, who are suspected of the sacrifices, are being withheld for data protection reasons.

In the process of arresting Marcell, another “trafficked and endangered child” was recovered, authorities said.
