The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is investigating the death of a 13-year-old Michigan boy, Jacob Clynick, who died just days after receiving his second dose of Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine.
13-year-old boy dies in his sleep after receiving Pfizer’s COVID vaccine
Martha Sharan, head of public affairs for the CDC’s COVID-19 vaccine task force, wrote in a statement to Newsweek that “CDC is aware of a 13-year-old Michigan boy who died after receiving the COVID-19 vaccine.”
This case is currently under investigation and until the investigation is complete, it is premature to assign a specific cause of death.
The determination of cause of death is made by the official completing the death certificate or the pathologist performing the autopsy.
VAERS is not designed to determine whether the vaccine caused the reported adverse effect.
While some of the reported adverse effects may be caused by vaccination, others are not and may have occurred incidentally.
Clynick received the second dose of Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine on June 13 and died in his sleep the night of June 15, the media outlet reported.
“He passed away in the middle of the night at home,” said Clynick’s aunt, Tammy Burages.
After receiving his second dose, Clynick had the usual post-vaccination symptoms, such as fatigue, fever and stomach pain, according to Burages. But she said the symptoms were not severe enough to cause concern.
