An 11-year-old girl fought and managed to escape from the clutches of a guy who tried to kidnap her in Florida, the girl bravely managed to get him off her after struggling with the assailant.
11-year-old girl fights and fights back in attempted abduction at bus stop
The incident took place Tuesday morning when a 30-year-old man from a white vehicle pulled up and chased the minor at a bus stop in Escambia County.
The girl managed to shake him off after struggling with the assailant, who now faces charges of attempted kidnapping of a minor, aggravated assault and the assaults.
“A Florida man was arrested Tuesday after he attempted to kidnap an 11-year-old girl who fought back as best she could and managed to escape,” the Escambia County Sheriff’s Sheriff’s Sheriff’s Deputy said.
“He fought back and didn’t give up,” Sheriff Chip Simmons explained at a press conference.
Jared Paul Stanga, 30, faces charges of attempted kidnapping of a minor, rage attacks and battery. The sheriff said he had an object that was adopted as a knife.
The attempted abduction occurred at 7 a.m. at a bus stop.
“This rarely happens,” the sheriff has said, “When I saw the video, I was shocked that this happened here in Escambia County,” he added.
Simmons explained that the girl acted well in fighting off the alleged kidnapper and then ran to alert her parents, who called the police.
The girl is doing well, although she suffered smaller scratches and psychological trauma.
The video shows a man running over her and trying to carry her to his vehicle before he stumbles and drives off without her.
The girl was playing with a blue booger toy when the abduction attempt occurred.
